Your Innkeepers pride themselves in making your getaway
a special experience. The lodge has a library of books,
videos (complete with popcorn!),
and board games for your enjoyment. Plenty of comfortable seating,
most surrounding our large fieldstone fireplace, are great for curling
up with a good book, or playing a board game with a new friend. Enjoy
the sunshine, and spectacular view of Lily Rock from our large patio
and grounds. The Lodge at Pine Cove is a smoke-free Inn, but we would
be happy to provide you with an ashtray for use on the porch, decks,
and patio.

History at a Glance
The building that houses The Lodge at Pine Cove dates back to the
1930s. Operated until the mid-1960's as the Pine Cove Lodge, and it
was part of a thriving community known as Pine Cove. Small cabins
surrounded the main lodge, where guests would enjoy music in front
of the large stone fireplace which remains today. (Photos provided
by the descendants of the Neely's who owned the Pine Cove Lodge)
In the 1970's the lodge was purchased by a woman named Jan, who
later opened "Jan's Red Kettle", a downtown restaurant and
Idyllwild landmark. In the 1980's a local artist named Roger Dutton
owned and lived in the lodge, and operated a firewood business.
Many of the changes which created separate rooms occurred during
this time. In the late 1990's, another restaurant, the Cafe Tirol
operated in the lodge.
The current owner, Geary Boedeker, purchased the building in early
2002, and remodeled it into a Bed and Breakfast - opened in June
2002.
